HORIZON 2020 – MULTIANNUAL FRAMEWORK AND ICT EIF Dinner DebateDate: Tuesday 28 February 2012 Time: 20.00-22.00 Venue: Private Salon, Members Restaurant, European Parliament in Brussels (see map) Horizon 2020 is the financial instrument of one of the Europe 2020 flagship initiatives, the Innovation Union. Running from 2014 to 2020 the EU’s new programme for research and innovation has a budget of €80 billion. It will combine all research and innovation funding currently provided through the Framework Programmes for Research and Technical Development, the innovation related activities of the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). At this dinner debate the Commission will present its new initiative. EIF members will then hear from the academic world, from a large company and from an SME in the ICT sector about their experience with EU funded R&D projects so far and their expectations on the new Horizon 2020 programme. As always this will be followed by open debate and question time.
